Biography

Mark A. Font is a senior consultant at the Ohyan Law Group. He holds the AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest level in the evaluation of American lawyers, a prestigious distinction.

Currently, he is a partner at the Houston office of CKR, an international law firm with offices in North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Mr. Font is an experienced trial and appellate attorney with over 30 years of experience in various matters, including international arbitration, commercial disputes in state and federal courts, personal injury litigation, and representing clients before government agencies. This experience enables Mr. Font to provide cost-effective, efficient, and common-sense advice and solutions for your legal issues.

Mr. Font has appeared in local, state, federal, and international courts. Throughout his career, he has successfully represented multinational corporations and individuals in a variety of litigation matters. These experiences allow Mr. Font to advise and guide clients in transactional matters to minimize risk and protect clients from litigation.

Selected Successful Cases

  • Defended a global service and technology provider in a multi-million dollar international arbitration arising from a construction contract in the Middle East, resulting in a zero-damage award on the contract.
  • Successfully defended a multinational energy and petrochemical company in cross-jurisdictional litigation for alleged injuries caused by exposure to certain chemicals. The case was dismissed.
  • Represented a regional property management company and its managers in a breach of contract lawsuit. The result was a favorable settlement for the clients.
  • Successfully defended a global engineering, procurement, construction, and installation company against personal injury claims arising from offshore operations. The result was a settlement requiring payment of only nominal damages to the plaintiff.
